MATERIAL: 100% COTTON
This is an original fabric woven on old-style looms in a historic weaving mill in the Bishu region.
It is an ultra-high-density cotton gabardine made from 20/1 SUPER ZERO yarn for both warp and weft. By using SUPER ZERO yarn, despite being an ultra-high-density woven fabric, the finished product is untwisted, resulting in a fabric with almost no twist in the threads.
As a result, compared to other high-density fabrics on the market, while still being high-density, the fabric does not become stiff. It retains the crispness characteristic of high-density fabrics while remaining soft, and it contains more air, making it lightweight and full of volume.
Another characteristic of its texture is a dry touch, similar to vintage fabrics. This is a byproduct of the degreasing that occurs when the yarn is hot-water treated for a long time during the untwisting process.
With repeated wear and washing, the untwisted yarns will further unravel, allowing you to enjoy a vintage-like aging process.
What is SUPER ZERO yarn? It is made by combining a cotton yarn twisted to the left with a water-soluble yarn, then applying a strong twist in the opposite direction. After weaving, when it is treated with hot water, only the water-soluble yarn dissolves.
The cotton yarn, reacting to the dissolution of the water-soluble yarn, tries to return to its original direction and expands significantly. Air enters the gaps in the released cotton yarn, resulting in a thread that maintains a fluffy texture with excellent absorbency.
